Making and Unmaking of Worlds
Workshop and Exhibition of a Collaborative Work
2024
Making and Un-Making of Worlds — a workshop held at Kulturværftet, Helsingør, where a group of local art students were invited into a shared exploration of the subconscious, hypnosis, and art-making.
Drawing from the practice as both an artist and a hypnotherapist, the workshop unfolded as a series of guided hypnotic sessions, where participants accessed inner landscapes, personal and imagined, allowing subconscious material to surface. From these journeys, participants moved into embodied creation, working with sketching, sculpture, and ceramics to translate what they had experienced internally into sculptural collective form.
The process emphasized openness and conversations of Language, memory, politics, and psychology, prioritizing the act of making as a means of listening, remembering, and releasing. Each participant engaged in their own rhythm of making and unmaking, revealing internal worlds, dissolving others, and leaving traces in clay and each other.
The workshop resulted in a collective installation, exhibited at Transit Artspace in September 2024. This final constellation was not a conclusion, but a gesture toward shared subconscious terrains, toward a future practice of communal making rooted in presence, somatic listening, and altered states.
This project is part of an ongoing investigation into how hypnotic tools can intersect with artistic education, practice, and care. It is part of a longer-term project to create a school of expanded artistic consciousness shaped by knowing the self and finding deeper connections to self and the collective.
